Professional Pics for Grace 1-Year

This is something I really wish I would have done with Caiden. Now that I know how cute they are at this age and how they are pretty much the cutest they will ever be I regret not getting them done.

It was just Grace and I during this photo shoot because we did it early in the morning and Caiden was sick and still asleep.

Grace: 1-YEAR

She's officially walking! She's been walking for a month but now it's pretty much all she does! I love that her pant knees aren't completely destroyed by noon. It's such a cute walk, too. Arms out, sumo wrestler walk! But she loves crawling up AND down the stairs. She would stay on them for hours going up and down if you let her.

This is probably the best age. She's so sweet and just so happy to see you no matter what is happening. Eats anything and EVERYTHING! She doesn't talk (haha), she sleeps through the night and takes two naps a day. I don't want her to grow out of this stage!

She has four teeth (two on top and two on bottom), and I can see another one on top ready to come through any time. Caiden had twice as many teeth by now so we were brushing them...we haven't started with Grace but I just made a comment to Marc that I think we need to start.

She sleeps from about 7:30pm to 7am, give or take a half hour or hour here and there. She is still on two naps a day, one at 9:30am and another around 2:30pm. I'm so ready for her to be on one nap a day so I can get her and Caiden on the same schedule but if you push her in the morning she will be very unhappy by 10:30/11. She sleeps with her little blankie but on occasion has thrown it out of her bed and fallen asleep without it. Totally not something Caiden would have been ok with. Although she loves it and sucks and chews on it until it's nasty she isn't as attached to it as Caiden.

She doesn't say a whole lot yet -mama, dada, more and bye bye. We started the sign language video and she's very into it. And she will even sign "more". I've started body parts and I feel like she may know 'nose', but it could be a coincidence. Most of the time she just completely ignores us when we try to get her to repeat.

She has such an attitude when you tell her no or take something from her (see below). She will scream at you and not give up until you distract her with something else. This is so unlike Caiden...and scares me a bit. It's either a girl thing or a Grace thing. And if it's Caiden trying to take something from her she will hold on for dear life until she falls or just can't hold on anymore.

We love, love, love her to moon and just can't get enough of her. She loves me so much and is so happy when I hold her, and I try to do it as much as I can ;) This year has gone so fast --like so, so, so fast and it feels like just a few months ago that we had a newborn baby. I can't believe she's going into the toddler phase.

Happy Birthday, baby Grace!

**These pictures are so hard to take by myself. She will not stay still or lie down for the life of me.

And this is what happens when you take the tv remote away from her.

She's also pretty silly. Without any prompting she started doing this.

She beelines for stairs when the gate is left open.

And climbs up on Caiden's bathroom stool.

She would spend the entire time in the water if we'd let her.

...his hair amazes me!

Caiden's first face paint

Caiden had a birthday party on Sunday for Ariya, who lives across the street. They had a face painter and Caiden was totally into it. Funny because just a month ago he had the opportunity and he said, "NO WAY", and walked away. This time he waited his turn in line and picked out Spiderman. He sat so still and was just so good...I was so proud of him!
