29 Weeks

28 weeks, 4 days
How far along? 29 Weeks
Total weight gain: 17 pounds
Maternity clothes? Oh yes, and lots of stretchy gym clothes.
Sleep: I've been on this kick of getting up at 12, 2 and 4am to use the restroom. Guess I'm prepping for being up with a newborn every couple of hours. However now I get to aimlessly walk to the bathroom and stumble back into bed and fall asleep. If this next baby is anything like Caiden it takes another 40 minutes to rock him back to sleep after he's been fed...no fun.
Food cravings: Grapes and ice cream
Best moment of the week: I had a Dr. appointment today and baby girl's heartbeat sounded great -in the 140's. I also got the news that I passed the first round glucose test I took last week! If you recall, I failed the first one with Caiden and had to take the 3-hour, eventually passing. But I was not looking forward to doing the 3-hour again. Thank goodness I don't have that to worry about.
Miss anything: Painting my toe nails. I just tried before we left for Palm Springs and BAM! there was my belly hitting my knees as I was trying to bend over. I think I did an overall good job but think I'll leave the rest of them up to the professionals.
Movement:  I've had a few take my breath away...where I'm just not expecting it and then it's like you get hit in the stomach..."where the eff did that come from???" I still feel most of the kicks down below so pretty sure she's still head up.

Palm Springs

Marc and I took a much needed mini-vaca to Palm Springs last weekend -just the two of us! I was really looking forward to this as I realized just before we went that I haven't had more than an hour or two away from Caiden in 7 months -since our Cabo trip last October. Luckily we had my sister and her boyfriend, Dustin, come down to watch Caiden for the weekend! We are extremely lucky to have Sara so close...but not only that, to actually have her go to the full extent of watching our child for consecutive nights. I think it's even better for Caiden because, 1) He's able to spend lots of quality time with his aunt, and 2) Not have me around 24/7 to always have in his back pocket.

We stayed at The Parker Meridien Palm Springs, a crazy ridiculous hotel that is not only trendy but also one of the most unique hotels I've been to. There was a wedding at the hotel while we were there (one of the directors of Modern Family) so we saw celebrities, too! And there were some reality tv stars at the pool one day. We had a fun people watching weekend to say the least!

We went out to fabulous dinners, sat by the pool in 100 degree heat, slept in....and didn't have ANYONE to worry about except ourselves!

The hotel has secret little hiding spots to just chill around every corner of their grounds.

And the food at this hotel was off the hook. The place we went to breakfast each morning, called Norma's, served some of the most delicious breakfast food I've had.

We really can't say thank you enough to Sara and Dustin for watching Caiden. We know it's a lot to ask and how much work it is...hopefully we just convinced them to wait a few more years to have kids and enjoy their free life ;) We got lots of pictures and videos from them over the weekend. Here are a few.

First though, here is one of Caiden giving us a big kiss through the iPad.

Quick trip to Nebraska

Marc had to travel to Denver for work all last week so I decided to go back home. My father had back surgery a few weeks before so it was a good time to go back and provide some much needed grandson excitement around the house.

My Aunt Sally had us over for dinner one night. She lives on a lake and I knew Caiden would have a blast down there. He loved playing in the water. He only gets in about knee deep but he does NOT want to get out when we are all ready to go up. He would put up quite a fight but he got Sally to stay with him down in the water longer than anyone else.

We went to the Children's museum one day and Caiden had a blast. I've been wanting to go to the one here in San Diego but their hours are from 10-4 and Caiden's nap is right in the middle of that time. He's actually able to push his nap to about 12:30 now so it might be possible to go right at 10 and stay for a couple hours before I get him in the car and I have to pull out all sorts of tricks so he doesn't fall asleep on the way home and ruin his nap.

We kept him on west coast time while we were in Nebraska so he didn't nap until 2'ish so we were able to get a visit in in the morning.

Caiden and my Dad had a tea party in this micro sized kitchen and Caiden couldn't get enough. He would have sat there all day long if we let him.

Feeding the chickens some grass

Playing fetch with the dogs. He would throw it about five feet and would get such a kick out of the dogs fetching it and bringing it back.

We even let him check chicken eggs for the first time.

He was so proud of himself and did not want to give up holding the egg
