Grace's birthday weekend

My parents came into town last weekend to celebrate Grace's 1st birthday. On Friday we celebrated with Sara and Dustin. Although I took no pictures, rest assure we did get our Friday night dance party on!

On Saturday Marc's cousin, Farhood and his wife, Sadaf, came down from LA with their little girl, Leah. We had lunch and gave Grace her cake. She destroyed that cake like it was her job. There was cake EVERYWHERE. She was flinging the cake around, putting it in her ears, feeding it to others...but rarely eating any herself. She would have been the perfect child for a smash cake photo shoot.

On Sunday we went to the beach and got nice and sandy.

Thank you so much to my parents for coming in town to help celebrate. And Happy Birthday, Baby Grace!

Caiden's 3-year check-up & Grace's 1-year check-up

Last week we had their appointments. I manned this one by myself so it was pretty crazy. Caiden was up first. They did a hearing test -he had to wear headphones (which he's never worn before) and every time he heard "the" noise he was supposed to clap. He did exactly what the nurse asked and I was almost in tears at how hilariously adorable it was. He had this clueless look on his face and did this very soft clap, so cute. And good news -he passed! They also tried to check his blood pressure but he wasn't sitting still enough.
Caiden weighed 30 lbs. 4 oz. (33rd percentile) and 37.1 inches long (42nd percentile). They don't do the head measurement anymore I guess.
Grace weighed 19 lbs. 5.5 oz. (43rd percentile), 28.2 inches long (15th percentile) and her head is in the 52nd percentile. She received one shot and got her iron levels tested. Unfortunately they were a teeny bit lower than what Dr. Roberts likes to see -10.7 and he likes it at an 11 so he will test her again at her 15-month appointment and go from there. She is still only on breast milk (which they say has lower iron levels than formula) so we need to continue the baby cereal that has some extra iron in it for now. I did do some research on my own and found that the lower range fluctuates anywhere from 10.5 to 11 depending on the doctor so I'm not too worried, but we'll see what happens next time.

Professional Pics for Grace 1-Year

This is something I really wish I would have done with Caiden. Now that I know how cute they are at this age and how they are pretty much the cutest they will ever be I regret not getting them done.

It was just Grace and I during this photo shoot because we did it early in the morning and Caiden was sick and still asleep.
