The Nutcracker and The Grinch

This past weekend I took Grace to the Nutcracker at the San Diego Civic Theatre presented by the California Ballet. We went with two girls from her ballet class and her ballet teacher, Ms. Miranda, was IN the ballet! When we saw her for the first time dancing on stage Grace was so excited. She kept waving at her and asking me why she wasn't waving back.

We had a sweet treat at Extraordinary Desserts after the show.

On Sunday I took Caiden to see The Grinch at the Old Globe Theatre in Balboa Park. This is such a great performance that has been going on for over 20 years at this very intimate theatre. We went with his buddy from school, Mack.

Picture season

We've been very busy over here with picture season upon us. Here are their school pictures.

Check out these gems! Caiden was so excited for these pictures. He was even more excited to send them to all the grandparents.

Caiden also ended the Fall Season with Football and Soccer pictures! He had a blast playing football and is totally hooked. Soccer....mehhhh, still working on that one ;)

Thanksgiving 2018

We went to the east coast for Thanksgiving week again this year. We did the usual list of activities but Marc and I also took the train up to New York City for a couple of days which was so fun!

Grace loved standing under this picture of her great-grandparents (Fery's Mom and Dad) and having her picture taken.

We went for a walk through Great Falls Park again.

Another wonderful Thanksgiving at the Bahrami's

Watching the Redskins game on Thanksgiving Day.

We hung out with the Rafii's one night and Caiden and Jake became fast friends while playing football.

Grace and Layla probably tried on 20 princess dresses during their playtime.

New York City! We saw Hamilton on Broadway and went to two amazing dinners at Gramercy Tavern and Babbo.

Caiden and Marc more camping

In September Marc and Caiden went to Camp Fox on Catalina Island to go camping with the Adventure Guides. They had to drive a couple hours up to Long Beach then take a two hour ferry ride to the island.

They went fishing, kayaking, rock climbing, telephone pole climbing and zip lining.

They slept in these open air cabins right on the water. Marc said you could hear all the men snoring from other cabins all night long.

In October they went to Agua Caliente, about two hours east into the desert to go camping. This was their first tent camping experience. They took rockets to launch and catch the parachute, they went swimming in a geothermally heated spring pool and went on a hike.

Caiden, Preston and Mack. These boys are in the same Kindergarten class and have become fast friends!

Happy Halloween 2018

We Marc carved some awesome pumpkins using his power tools and the kids and I cleaned and baked some pumpkin seeds.  Caiden was a big fan of the baked pumpkin seeds....Grace not so much.  They turned out so good though, totally going to do it again next year!

On Halloween Day Caiden's school had a parade and party in the classroom.

That evening we had a group of families in the neighborhood all meet up and go trick or treating together. There was a big haunted house in the cul de sac down the street that we all had a blast going through. Caiden went through about ten times with his friends. Grace wouldn't get within five feet of the entrance.
