She's officially crawling

The army crawl has been retired -we haven't seen it in quite a few days. We are marking the official day as May 24 (also Marc's birthday!). That's when she consistently started the regular crawl and stopped the army crawl.

...and she's off...
...to see Marc as he walks through the door from work. {pick me up, dadda}

Marc and I were even able to enjoy a nice steak dinner with just the two of us on his birthday thanks to Sara and Dustin for watching the kiddos!

Radish garden

About a month ago Marc and Caiden planted a little patch of radishes and they started coming up last week. Marc has taught Caiden that he can't pick them unless he is there with him. So every day the first thing Caiden does when Marc gets home is yells, "The radishes are ready, the radishes are ready!" and pulls his arm to go outside to look at them. Most of the time there aren't any that are ready to be picked, Caiden just likes the idea of picking them out of the ground. However when there is one that is ready Caiden is so proud and always comes to show me and tells me to wash it so he can eat it. Well he doesn't really like the taste of them but he's so proud of his radish that he wants to like it so bad. He'll take bites out of it and wince in disgust but continue to eat it. When you ask him if he likes it he'll always say yes, but not with confidence.

No coming down now

As I write this she's been in her crib now for 30 minutes pulling herself up and walking around the edge. And she just bent down, picked up her blankie, put it in her mouth and is back on the move. Good lord.

She can officially pull herself up onto most things that are within her reach...our coffee table, the jumper. And that's all she wants to do, she's already taken a few good spills. She has a bruise on her cheek and I'm sure a couple knots on her head that I can't bring myself to check for. I have a feeling she's going to walk a month or two sooner than Caiden.

Grace: 9-months

She is not quite crawling yet. Caiden was 9 and a half months and I'm sure she'll be the same. There are multiple times a day when I stop and tell everyone who's around to look because I'm sure it's going to be the time...haha.

She is down to two naps a day but not sleeping through the night, sometimes it's really hard because she is up two or three times. We did move her to her own room last week so she's not in our room and doesn't make her way into our bed in the middle of the night. This means Marc is sleeping really well during the week and I get the weekends!

She has her bottom two teeth. Caiden had one of his top teeth in by now so I'm assuming her's will be right behind! I LOVE how cute they look when they have their top two middle teeth!

She is eating food twice a day. A couple tablespoons of rice cereal in the morning and then a couple more at night with also some other type of pureed food -squash, sweet potatoe, apple, banana...she's enjoying them all!

I have to admit she's pretty in love with all of us. She just lights up when any of us walk in the room, especially if she hasn't seen us in a few hours. She makes you feel so special because she just smiles so big and takes her hands and puts them all over your face. We love her!!!

It's almost time to be an Auntie!  Can't wait to meet my nephew...just a few more weeks.

Grace got a hold of the balloons from Sara's baby shower, boy did they keep her entertained.

Seriously -do you think she's ready to eat!?!?!

Grace's 9-month check-up

She weighed 16 lbs. 6 oz. (21st percentile), 26.5 inches long (13th percentile) and her head is in the 42nd percentile. She was perfect for the entire appointment, smiling at everyone, trying to pull herself up on the window sill and destroying and eating the paper liner. She received two shot vaccines. We'll go back for her 1-year in August...1 YEAR OH MY!!!

We are getting out a lot!

This week we got out every single day. Needless to say I am very impressed with myself! Monday we went to gymnastics, Tuesday to Jump It Up, Wednesday back to gymnastics and Thursday to gymnastics again but at a different location. Tomorrow Grace has her 9-month appointment so it doesn't count.

This was our first time at gymnastics and as you can imagine Caiden had a blast. He leaves that place covered in sweat and falls asleep within 10 minutes of his head hitting his bed for his nap. His favorite are these rings. He could swing from them for the entire time we are there but he's learning to take turns.

Even Grace loves to crawl around and watch everything going on around her. She even crawled through that hoop in the background all by herself. No coaxing or anything...all of a sudden I look over and she's half way through!

Jump it up is a warehouse with 4 huge bounce houses in it -a slide, an obstacle course, an octagon with basketball hoops and another one with a slide inside it. It was our first time here too and Caiden loved it equally as much as the gym. Grace was sleeping for the first half hour we were there so I was able to play with Caiden. I have to admit I was sweating pretty good after 10 minutes. Once Grace woke up she got in on the action too. I would take her in when it was only me and Caiden and she just loved watching us bounce around.

This week as been so much fun and it makes the days go by so fast. I'm pretty exhausted by the end considering I'm only getting a few hours of sleep each night (thanks, Miss Grace) but totally worth it.
