Caiden's 18-month check-up

We had his 18 month check-up today. However he's been sick for a couple of days now so it was good and bad. Good because we were able to see the Dr. -bad because he wasn't able to get his shots so I have to go back in a few weeks when he gets better. Also, he hasn't been eating well the past few days so I feel like the weight they took of him wasn't accurate...pretty sure he's at least another pound heavier.

So back to him being sick. His canines are coming in for sure, one popped through earlier this week and the rest are so swollen and red that they have got to be popping through any day now. So earlier this week he had a clear runny nose and constantly fingers in his mouth and even waking up just crying with his fingers in his mouth so I was just thinking it was his teeth. Then by Wednesday he started developing a cough and a little wheezing. Same sort of stuff he had 2 months ago when we took him to the Dr. and they gave us an inhaler to help clear him up. It worked and after a few days it went away. At this appointment the Dr. said the same thing, they checked his oxygen levels and they were fine so he said to just keep using the inhaler until it gets better, shouldn't be more than another 3 days or so. Last night was brutal, he was up at 9pm and again at 1am for an hour...then up at 5:45am for the day. He wasn't breathing well at all and he was just so uncomfortable all night long. He seems to be doing so much better today so that's a good sign.

So they weighed him at 23 lbs. 12 oz. (42nd percentile), 32.1 inches long (34th percentile) and his head is in the 55th percentile. We'll go back in two weeks for the two shots he missed out on today and it will also be interesting to see what they weigh him at. After that we'll go back when he's 2 years.
