40 Weeks

40 weeks

How far along? 40 Weeks - MY DUE DATE IS HERE!
Total weight gain: 31 pounds
Maternity clothes? yes
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep:  Pretty much the same, just getting up a lot to use the bathroom, it’s non-stop, every 2 hours.
Best moment of the week: Reaching my due date with zero problems. I’m actually hoping Marc and I have one more weekend to hang out before baby boy arrives. My doctor appointment today was a success…blood pressure, protein, measurements…all that stuff was normal. And I love it because he didn’t mention anything about inducing or measures to speed things up, he just lets me be. He only said if I’m still here next week that I might start to have questions.
Miss anything? Refer to last week’s post ;)
Movement: He’s really slowing down in there. Every once in awhile I’ll get a BIG kick in the side, but I’m not sure he has too much room to move anymore. I have a fear that’s he’s going to be a 10 pound baby…eeekkkk!
Food cravings: I made cookies this week, bought ice cream and cones from the grocery, bought stroopwafel’s from World Market…all these sweets are taking over my life ;)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Gender:  Boy
Labor Signs: Lots of Braxton hicks contractions, hope that means something?!?!
Symptoms: My belly has grown so fast these past few weeks, I keep saying, “I don’t think it could get any bigger”, and then it does.
Belly Button in or out? Halfsies
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Look forward to: Well my due date is today, so his arrival of course…and hoping I don’t have to do a “41 Week” blog post…but all hoping aside and I’m pretty sure you’ll see a 41 week belly photo. Till then…throw some good vibes my way in hopes of an “easy” delivery…ha.

39 Weeks

39 weeks, 1 day

How far along? 39 Weeks
Total weight gain: 31 pounds
Maternity clothes? Uhhhh, yes.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep:  Good; but my shoulders are getting sore from sleeping on my side. I can’t wait to sleep on my stomach and back again. And I’m so hot at night, I can’t sleep with any covers on and I have 3 fans blowing in the room. I wake up in the middle of the night and see Marc with the down comforter up to his neck because I need it so cold.
Best moment of the week: Hearing from the doc that everything is still a-o.k. and no need for any intervention at this point!
Miss anything? This question annoys me now…haha.
Movement: oh yes, he may be slowing down a bit due to lack of space but there’s no doubt he loves his 10-11pm dance parties in there.
Food cravings: Not really. I guess I never really got those weird food cravings people talk about like pickles and ice cream mixed together.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Gender:  Boy
Labor Signs: hmmm, I don’t think so. I think I’m getting more Braxton hicks contractions now than I was before. I would get them when I work out all the time but now I’m getting them just around the house. So maybe that's a yes, I dunno?
Symptoms: Just the normal full term pregnancy stuff…pelvic pressure being one of them. But I’m not really that uncomfortable…catch me in 2 or 3 weeks when I still haven’t given birth and that might be a different story.
Belly Button in or out? Half in, half out
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Pretty happy, but when everyone calls to ask if I’m in labor yet I want to shout, “NO, I’m not, and you’re making me think I need to be and stressing me out” ::In the nicest possible way of course::
Look forward to: My due date. Yes, I’m pretty sure I’ll see it come and go with no baby but then it has to be close. But he is way easier to take care of right now than when he comes out so I’m cool with waiting for a few more weeks.

OH, and I really need to pack my hospital bag, Marc has been on my case for 2 weeks now. Seriously I’m not having any of those nesting instincts. I feel like it will all just “get done somehow”.

Maternity Pictures

Here are a few of our favorites. A huge thank you to Brandi Mussack with La Brisa Photography for taking these solo pictures of me. She is such a talented photographer and I couldn't have been happier with how they turned out. I just wished she lived closer and could take the newborn shots. I was 32 weeks pregnant when they were taken, right at the 7 month mark.

Marc wasn't able to participate in the shoot above so the following week we took some together with the same photographer that shot our wedding.

38 Weeks

38 weeks

How far along? 38 Weeks…we are officially in his birth month!
Total weight gain: 31 pounds…wowza!
Maternity clothes? Do you see that belly???
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Surprisingly pretty good. Some days I’ll wake up with some hip pain from sleeping on one side too long but other days, nothing, which is great.
Best moment of the week: We are really just soaking up the last bits of privacy and “twosome’ness” we’ll have for a very, very long time. The last 6 and half years with just me and Marc has been the best chapter of my life, I have to admit I’m bummed to see it go.
Miss anything? Where do I begin?!?
Movement: He is so active, and I feel like I can literally feel an entire leg protruding out on the right side of my stomach sometimes.
Food cravings: In the past few days I’ve found myself actually being hungry for meals. I haven’t really had that feeling in awhile, I’ve always felt full.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Gender:  Boy
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: notta...still doing body pump, yoga, leg work-outs, walking and nothing is happening.
Belly Button in or out? Half in, half out
Wedding rings on or off? They still fit!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, scared, nervous.
Look forward to: baby boy’s arrival…can’t believe it is almost time, could be anytime…or could be another 4 weeks!

Happy Independence Day! The weather was like it usually is in San Diego on the 4th of July, cloudy and more cloudy. We rode our bikes to a party my sister was at and ran into a few friends we haven't seen in a long time and headed home around 4, made dinner and then went down to the Bay to watch the fireworks around San Diego. There are 5 shows around the city that sync up at 9pm and we have a perfect view of 3 of them. However it was a major FAIL because a computer glitch happened and about 5 minutes before the show was supposed to start all the fireworks were released at one time with one huge bang throughout the entire city. Someone's going to be getting an earful tomorrow. Luckily we still had the Seaworld fireworks right above us at 9:30 to watch. I made a comment that I can't believe next year at this time we'll have a one year old...OMG.

37 Weeks

37 weeks, 1 day

How far along? 37 Weeks…Full Term!
Total weight gain: 29 pounds
Maternity clothes? Oh yea
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep:  Pretty good actually. Just restroom breaks every couple of hours.
Best moment of the week: We picked up the dresser and crib and Marc put it all together! We’re still waiting on the rocker from Pottery Barn and it’s not going to be delivered until around my due date, bummer, but not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things.
Miss anything: bending over to do anything…brushing teeth, washing face, putting on shoes, etc, etc.
Movement: He’s crazy busy in there, I hope he’s packing his bags for an on time arrival in 3 WEEKS!
Food cravings: I’ve wanted coffee more and more these past few weeks, probably because I’m not sleeping the best and I need something to get my motor running in the morning. Before I got pregnant I only drank coffee maybe once a week, I have a feeling we should start buying some stock in coffee real soon.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Gender:  Boy
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: By the end of the day I feel more pressure on my pelvis than I have before, not sure what or if this really means anything. Other than that feeling good, nothing weird or crazy to report.
Belly Button in or out? Flat
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! It’s been lots of fun getting the nursery ready and putting the clothes away and finally opening the boxes of stuff we’ve received over the past six months!
Look forward to: I’m officially on my weekly doctor appointments until he arrives. I'm usually in and out in about 10 minutes, but it's always fun to hear his heartbeat. The doctor always tells me how “normal” my pregnancy is, I hope it stays that way through delivery.

Sunday Funday! ha

36 Weeks

36 weeks, 4 days

How far along? 36 Weeks
Total weight gain: 29 pounds, still gaining a pound or so a week.
Maternity clothes? Oh yes and I really love my Hudson maternity jeans, should’ve ordered these a long time ago!
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: I truly feel that I am being prepped for getting up every two hours. I used to sleep through the night, now I can’t remember when the last time that has happened because I have to pee all the time.
Best moment of the week: I ordered the furniture, we got the new windows/doors installed and Marc steam cleaned all the carpets this past weekend. Things are finally coming together! Nursery pics are sure to come in the next week or two once the furniture arrives.
Miss anything: SLEEP. And yes, I know, this isn’t going to get any better.
Movement: It feels like he’s huge, his movements are so “big”. It feels like I can feel an entire butt or thigh rolling across my stomach.
Food cravings: Grapes and more grapes
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Gender:  Boy
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: I’m starting to feel pressure lower in my pelvis that I haven’t felt before. Like maybe he is starting to “drop”? I don’t really know if that’s the proper term or if that’s what is really happening but it does feel a bit different.
Belly Button in or out? Flat, but nothing has popped out yet.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Very happy, can’t wait to see what he looks like!
Look forward to: We are taking the childbirth prep class this weekend. I’m not really expecting to be blown away by anything in the class but I feel like it will be a good all around experience. They will touch on everything from breastfeeding, infant care, and of course, childbirth. Two 6-hour days, oh joy.

35 Weeks

35 weeks, 3 days

How far along? 35 Weeks…HOLY 5 weeks till my due date!!
Total weight gain: 28 pounds
Maternity clothes? Oh yes
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep:  This week has been better, I’m still getting some hip pain when I sleep on one side for a prolonged period of time and my nose gets so stuffy too, but better than last week.
Best moment of the week: So obviously my shower was pretty fantastic, but we also did the hospital tour this week. It made everything very real. They took us through all the rooms we’ll be in (getting the initial check then labor and delivery and then postpartum), where to go when we get to the hospital and we filled out a bunch of paperwork so we don’t have to do it when we get there and I'm in labor. We were really impressed with the postpartum rooms. Each of us has a bed to sleep in which is great for Marc. All the other hospitals we’ve been to when we’re visiting friends don’t have a bed for the hubby, just like a window bench which seems really uncomfortable. We are very happy with the hospital even though it’s not where I originally wanted to deliver.
Miss anything: Seriously, sitting on the couch is getting so uncomfortable. I have to lean back so far otherwise my stomach puts so much pressure on my ribs. I’d rather be doing anything but sitting.
Movement: More and more active each day
Food cravings: not really anything special.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Gender: Still a boy, but I’ve been thinking about what would happen if my 2 ultrasounds were wrong and it’s a girl. Crazy things I think about.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Just seriously normal pregnancy stuff like immobility, heartburn, etc., but I’m still working out and staying very active which makes me feel like I’m not a super blob.
Belly Button in or out? It’s pretty flat.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Both. I feel like I get moody when someone (ahem…hubby) wants to talk about insignificant or unimportant things…I mean, come on, I have a baby coming out of me in the next month don’t we have better things to worry about?!?
Look forward to:  We’re getting new windows and doors in our house! Then we’ll get furniture and get the room looking like a nursery. Currently it’s just a bunch of boxes with a walk way to get through.
