20 Weeks

20 weeks, 3 days

How far along? 20 Weeks
Total weight gain: 10 pounds...trying to get used to having a belly.
Maternity clothes? I work primarily from home, so my wardrobe consists of sweatpants, yogapants and leggings. When I have to go places, I rock the bella band over my unbuttoned jeans.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleeping great - minus the frequent trips to the bathroom.
Best moment of the week: Seeing baby boy at our 20 week ultrasound. Probably the last ultrasound I will have before he's born which is sad.
Miss anything: Drinking - this could potentially be my answer every week.
Movement: I'm feeling things! The day I hit 20 weeks I started feeling gas like bubbles in my belly. After the third one in an hour it finally clicked what it was and now I feel them all the time! So awesome!
Food cravings: Nope
Anything making you queasy or sick: not much. The chicken breast salad is becoming more and more agreeable.
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, maybe a hint of moody here and there ;)
Look forward to: More and more movements! And Palm Springs! A couple girlfriends and I (we are ALL preggo) are going for a few days next weekend...spa time!

In other news, we have started planning the nursery which has been fun. I drew the room to scale on a sheet of paper and am trying to figure out where everything should go. I've found a crib and a glider that are at the top of the list, now for a dresser. I really like the idea of buying something on craigslist and painting it, adding some new hardware, etc., but not sure this will actually materialize. Realistically we'll probably just buy something. Also, I've started thinking about registering...and each time I do I get a bit crazy. It's SO overwhelming thinking about all the things we need and so many brands of each product that I don't even know where to begin. ::sigh:: And I need to get started on this because my first shower is in 2 months! Yah!

It's a BOY!

Okay, so we technically found out at 12 and a half weeks, but it was so early that I was convinced it was somehow going to change. Well, the tech assured me that it definitely did not change in the past 8 weeks so we can now officially start thinking about all things boy. The appointment went great, the baby is measuring right on track, weighing in at a whopping 13 ounces. All the limbs, heart, brain, etc. all looked great and we have a very active baby boy. Doesn't get much better than that!

19 Weeks

19 weeks, 3 days
How far along? 19 Weeks
Total weight gain: 9 pounds
Maternity clothes? No. I'm still wearing most of my jeans and pants normally. I do have one pair of jeans that I've worn the bella band with this past week, not bad for a piece of elastic that covers the button and zipper.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleeping pretty good
Best moment of the week: Realizing I'm almost half way there, holy moly!
Miss anything: wine and more wine
Movement: Still waiting...
Food cravings: Nothing out of the ordinary. I've always eaten what I wanted when I wanted so I'm not sure what a "food craving" will feel like.
Anything making you queasy or sick: not much. But our chicken breast salad still doesn't do anything for me.
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Look forward to: Still feeling the baby move AND the 20 week ultrasound on Thursday!

4 months

I'm 4 months pregnant today...and officially rocking the unbutton jeans look when I sit down. I have to remember to button them back up when I stand up. Pretty sure I've walked around a restaurant or the supermarket with my pants unbuttoned a few times, oops.

I found a blog where this girl filled in all the below information every time she would post. Figured it's a good way to express what's going on and thought I'd do the same...and here's the updated belly photo, things are happening!

17 weeks, 3 days

How far along? 17 Weeks, 4 Days
Total weight gain: 5 pounds
Maternity clothes? No. My girlfriend who is 4 weeks ahead of me just gave me her belly band. She didn't like it and went straight to maternity jeans. I don't need it yet, but I'm sure in the next month I'll be trying it out.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleeping okay, minus the multiple wake-ups from the bladder telling me to pee! Also, I've always been a side sleeper, but for the past few months the congestion in my nose is extremely annoying and when I spend longer than 5 minutes on one side I can no longer breath through that side of my nose. Sometimes I wake up and walk around the room for a few minutes to get it all evened out before I can fall back asleep. I've heard this is a constant through pregnancy so I'm not expecting it to go away anytime soon...sweet.
Best moment of the week: Scheduling the next ultrasound for March 1!
Miss anything: I will state the obvious - wine.
Movement: None yet, hopefully soon. All the books say it could be happening anytime.
Food cravings: sweets!! Now, I've always loved anything to do with dessert, but I feel like I could eat them all the time and be totally content that it's okay. I know it's not, but seriously people...I LOVE ice cream and chocolate and cake ;)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Chicken hasn't been something that I've really fancied this entire pregnancy unless it's been encrusted with something yummy, fried or dripping with Indian sauce. This hasn't changed yet and I feel bad for Marc because I've been cooking our oh so healthy chicken breast salad for dinner less and less, just writing this makes me nauseous.
Have you started to show yet: I'm gonna go with yes.
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: A bit of both.
Look forward to: Feeling the baby move.

15 week belly picture

Okay, so I'm finally breaking down and posting some belly pics. Since our families live out of town they are always asking if I'm showing yet. I'm 15 and a half weeks today and I'm finally starting to show a little something (although I'm convinced it's the nightly ice cream ;). The second picture was taken a few days after we found out I was pregnant and we've been taking weekly pictures since then.

I've been feeling great since the morning sickness passed last month, just a little more tired than usual by the end of a busy day. It's been great having my sister here. She takes a million pictures of my belly until we get just the right one! He's going to have an awesome aunt, that's for sure!

15 weeks, 3 days
4 weeks, 2 days - The day we found out I was prego!
BTW, I was sick, hence my lack of enthusiasm.

First Trimester Ultrasound

We had our first trimester screening/ultrasound today, I'm 12 weeks 5 days. The doctor said the baby looked great and is measuring 3 inches long and 2 days ahead of schedule but will keep my due date the same as of now. The heart rate was around 160, which was what Dr. Riley spotted it at on the doppler at my appointment last week as well. Nice and strong! My sister and Marc were both there during the appointment and my sister took a video and some pictures. At the beginning of the ultrasound we told the doctor we didn't want to know the gender because this early most doctors will only give you a 60 or 70% assurance one way or another. We were going to wait until the 20 week ultrasound so we knew for sure what it was. But, once the ultrasound was over I asked the doctor if he could tell for sure what it was and he said yes, 100% he could tell us. At that point we didn't know what to do because we weren't expecting that. So we decided to have him write down the gender and put it in an envelope and take it home with us. Well, once we left the office we were standing in front of the building and we couldn't handle it and had my sister open it and tell us. It's a BOY!!! So much for taking it to a baker and having a cake with the filling be pink or blue.

We are so excited that the baby looks healthy! Our next appointment with our doctor is in 3 and a half weeks where we'll be able to hear the heartbeat on the doppler and the 20 week ultrasound happening a few weeks after that. I haven't gained a pound yet and still no bump so no belly pictures yet. I may start posting them in a few weeks once I get some action in there.

12 Weeks, 5 days. Alien baby! You can see the top of the skull, the eye sockets, nose and mouth. It looks like he's looking right at you!
You can see the spine at the top
